I just got up and checked to see how some guys headed to the track did lastnight. Guy in NM over 3600 ft elevation ran a 12.3 last night. Stock clutch, block, no NOS, and street tires were his stats I believe. He had a 60' in the 1.7s and I think he has a bigger turbo ($700-$1500 mod and 2-3 hours to swap). They're expecting a guy here in the East (CT) to blow that time away tonight at the track, so it might go even much lower. So, you can throw some MTs on to keep up with them off the line like you said, but I wouldn't recommend it on the street. You better get that Z in the for sale ads cause many people are following these guys' mod path!
